Product Description

Our lightest, most minimalist, closest-to-barefoot performance shoe.

The comic book character The Flash gets his super speed from the Speed Force. We think this shoe will do the same for you.

While we made Speed Force to be a racing shoe, people are wearing it for MUCH more. Some take it on trails (watch where you put your feet given the feedback you’ll get from the 4.5mm FeelTrue® rubber sole), and others simply wear it all day, every day, because of the sock-like comfort.

Here’s what you’ll love when you slip on your Speed Force:

  • LIGHTWEIGHT – Men’s 9 is only 6.6 ounces
  • GRIPPY – The tread pattern in the FeelTrue® rubber sole feels super sure-footed
  • “BARE-LY THERE” – the mesh upper with its silky smooth lining gives you a real barefoot-feeling

The other reasons you’ll love the Speed Force are thanks to its Xero Shoes DNA:

  • A wide toe box — lets your toes spread, splay and move naturally
  • Low-to-the-ground design for balance and agility
  • Non-elevated, “zero-drop” heel for proper posture
  • The flexible sole lets your feet bend and move the way they’re supposed to, naturally
  • Removable 3mm insole lets you choose the amount of barefoot feel you want
  • 100% vegan-friendly — no animal products are used in the Speed Force
  • 5,000 mile sole warranty

We designed the Speed Force to be a racing shoe. Our lightest, most minimalist, closest-to-barefoot shoe.

What we’ve found, though, is people are wearing it for WAY more than that.

Road running, light trail running, walking, hiking, working out, CrossFit, slacklining… it’s up to you. Once you get them on, I’m sure you’ll do things we never thought of (and we want to see pictures of that!).

Put on your Speed Force and Live Life Feet First!

The Prio is our best-selling “do almost anything” shoe — running, hiking, working out, you name it.
With a durable upper, it provides a bit more protection.

The Speed Force is our lightest, “most barefoot” shoe.
More feedback as you step and a mesh upper that holds like a glove, you get a “barely there” experience.

The HFS is lighter than the Prio, more rugged than the Speed Force.
The HFS’s sole has a tire tread-inspired sole that’s made to handle roads and have extra traction.
The huarache-inspired midfoot and instep straps are “hiding” behind a protective welded material.
And the moisture wicking lining for extra comfort and breathability.

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

Please go to Xero Shoes Return Policy page to learn about our 45-day return policy.

Caring for your Speed Forces

Minimalist sneaker and everything shoe

Excellent. I ordered the wrong size and was able to exchange them quite easily at no extra cost. It might be useful to publish insole measurements for more accurate estimates of size too. I went on my first hike yesterday in the pouring rain and am impressed by the grip I had on the rocks! Plus, I love how much ground feel I get with these shoes that keep my feet warm in my wool socks.

Xero Shoes

I'm glad to hear that you had a positive experience with the exchange process and that you're enjoying the benefits of your new shoes, especially during your hike! Your feedback about publishing insole measurements for more accurate sizing estimates is valuable and will be considered. If you have any further feedback or need assistance in the future, feel free to reach out. Happy trails!

Surprisingly Great

I was skeptical about a shoe with literally no support but am happily surprised at how comfortable my feet feel after wearing them while doing yard work most of the day. I mowed, raked, and weeded the yard for about 5 hours yesterday and my feet felt better than when I wore my Oboz.

Original Speed Forces | Greg in customer service is the best!

Wore through two pairs of these shoes and after the Prios, Barefoot Merrels and Vivos. I decided that these were my favorite utility shoes overall. The HFS's have a very nice and wider toe box, as do Vivo's which does allow for more freedom and expansion when on long walks. The Vivo's however run rather large so they have a clown shoe effect at a size 13. The only cons of the Speed forces is that their little reflective straps are prone to tear if you use them while landscaping or in extensive trail running. They are a bit narrow, but they have very forgiving upper mesh. So if you are uncomfortable at first give them time and they'll win you over. Beyond that out of all of the Xero's, Vivo's, Merrel's and Groundies. They have the most contact with the earth while maintaining around a 400 mile expected use. The Vivos are a bit more enduring, but at around 2-3x increased price. So for the price point, functionality, comfort, and within the normal lifespan of a shoe. These are the clear winner. Thank you for producing these and for the SP2s that I look forward to wearing.
