The Alpine overall is an amazing boot for the cold. – Jason N.

Enjoy that crisp winter weather in the Alpine – your fully-waterproof, lightweight, minimalist snow boot

Now you don’t need to sacrifice comfort and natural movement when the temperature starts to fall and snow is in the air (and on the ground).

Waterproof, cozy, and warm!

The Alpine keeps the wet out with a fully seam-sealed inner bootie and a waterproof membrane in the boot’s upper.

The insulated polyester fleece lining keeps those piggies nice and warm. And a heat-reflective insole adds to the winter-friendly comfort. And, yes, you can remove the insole for an even more “barefoot” feeling.

The Alpine has 200g of insulation so they should keep your feet warm no matter where your adventures take you.

Caring for your Alpines

To clean your Alpines, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting the Alpine in the washing machine or dryer.

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

I primarily wear my Mesa Trails so these did take a bit of getting used to due to the thicker sole. Once I removed the insole they felt better (not so soft and squishy) on my feet. I have loved them so far and they have definitely been keeping my feet warm.

Very comfortable

I haven't had a chance to really try them out for hikes yet, but I've gone bike riding in the snow, shoveled snow, and gone for neighborhood walks in the snow, and I find the boots as warm and comfortable as wearing slippers. They seem to have good traction, and my feet haven't got wet when walking through slush.

Great Boots

I’ve had these boots for 3 plus weeks love them, I live in Canada and had lots of opportunity to wear them in snow and slush no issues at all. It hasn’t gotten that cold yet maybe -20C. As long as you keep moving your feet should stay warm. I only wear a light pair of socks.

Surprisingly, better than expected!

And I expected a lot. I’m a longtime fan, love my Zeros. When I saw the Alpine came out I purchased right away. As I live in cold snowy northern Vermont and walk my dog 3 times a day, I put them to the test! Success! Yes they fit perfectly. I left the insoles in for additional insulation and yes, they are very warm. The final test, are they waterproof? Yes, the best. I highly recommend them! Bill from the Green Mountain State.

Great boots

Boots are light and super for sloshing through the wet slushy snow we've had lately. Seem to have plenty of traction, though maybe not on hard wet ice. Plenty warm and no leaks. They do run a tad big so don't size up. The extra size works good for me. Plenty of room for toes to be free. Usually, I wear Z-Trail EV, but these boots are a lot better for these conditions.

Very good so far

I gave 4 of 5 stars only because I haven't had these for long and want to test the waterproof aspect. Things I like so far: Fit - toe box is roomy, yet the boot feels secure on the foot. No sliding around. Warmth - I've been out in low-teens temperatures with single-digit windchill, and my feet were plenty warm. Also, feet stayed warm trekking through deeper snow when snow can cling to the boot. Generally, the boot sheds snow on the upper pretty well. Tread - Traction seems pretty good. We had a thaw and freeze followed by snowfall. No problems with traction so far even though I'm walking a malamute and husky. The one thing I'm not sure about - not a negative, just an open question - is the minimalist aspect. I've worn zero-drop shoes for year and would never go back, but these are the first minimalist ones I've worn. I didn't realize how much the midsoles of my other shoes/boots absorbed/hid the undulations of the trampled snowy sidewalks here. My feet can feel every aspect of that topography. I haven't noticed my feet feeling worse for wear so far in spite of a week of twice-daily dog walks totaling 1.25-1.5 hours. I suspect I'll adjust over time, but it is a novel sensation at the beginning. Hope folks find this helpful.

Good, but still room for improvement.

They’re are comfortable and light, but where they suffer is the weather proofing on the soles of the boot. That is where moisture has been getting in. I would also prefer a higher top for deeper snow in Northern Canada.
