The Alpine overall is an amazing boot for the cold. – Jason N.

Enjoy that crisp winter weather in the Alpine – your fully-waterproof, lightweight, minimalist snow boot

Now you don’t need to sacrifice comfort and natural movement when the temperature starts to fall and snow is in the air (and on the ground).

Waterproof, cozy, and warm!

The Alpine keeps the wet out with a fully seam-sealed inner bootie and a water-resistant membrane in the boot’s upper.

The insulated polyester fleece lining keeps those piggies nice and warm. And a heat-reflective insole adds to the winter-friendly comfort. And, yes, you can remove the insole for an even more “barefoot” feeling.

The Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, so they should keep your feet warm no matter where your adventures take you.

Lightweight and grippy

A men’s 9 weighs just 14.9 ounces each, a luggy tread gives you sure-footed traction, and a flexible, non-elevated (zero-drop) sole lets your foot move naturally.

Plus, the Alpine is made from 100% vegan-friendly materials.

Whether you wear the Alpine for a romp in the snow or after you slip off your ski boots, remember…

Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from using your feet naturally.

That’s what Xero Shoes let you do.

Natural Fit. Natural Motion. Natural Feel.

Caring for your Alpines

To clean your Alpines, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting the Alpine in the washing machine or dryer.

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

Fantastic for winter mountain biking

I’ve been using the Alpine shoe with my Catalyst flat pedals this winter and I’m very happy. The sole is very durable, after 3 months of use (3-6 times a week) there is no indication that the pedal pins are wearing the sole. It is so nice to have waterproof boots to ride in instead of having to use water resistant over boots. My boots fit true to size. I highly recommend these boots.

Not grippy, not temperature rated as advertised

I work in the arctic two weeks on and off and unfortunately my feet began to get cold at ambient temperatures around -25°C and below. I also find that these boots slip very easily in cold weather conditions including back home where it's only been in the -5°C to -10°C range. On the upside haven't had any waterproof issues yet and the boots are roomy enough for me to wear correct toes with them.

LOVE LOVE LOVE EM!

These boots are amazing! They are about as minimalist as you can get in a winter boot. The sizing is pretty darn good, I run a 15 in the Denver and a 14 in the Hana yet went with the 15 in these and the fit is a bit bigger than the Denver 15 but not so big that it's overkill. A good pair of thick winter socks will wear well with these. They are INCREDIBLY warm! I use to have cold feet all the time in winter while outside and these with an average pair of socks keep my feet nice and toasty. I'll be buying these again if I wear my current pair out! 5/5 would buy again. 5/5 would recommend to a friend. ZERO REGRET on buying these at full price!

Strikes a good balance

They fit well, they're warm, they're grippy, and they provide as much minimalism as you can reasonably expect from a winter boot. (they're not as thin or bendy as most of my summer shoes, but they're way more so than any other winter boot I've worn) The Alpines are exactly what I'd want for winter hiking. For around the house, though (shoveling, playing with my kids, etc.) I'd prefer a laceless design. Perhaps a zipper or a cinch, or just a looser boot that doesn't need fastening. Maybe that could be another model in the future.

Perfect Boots.

I have only been able to hike in these a couple times, but I’ve put them through their paces. I have lugged through thigh deep snow in them, wearing snow pants. They have a stiffer sole than some of my other Xeros (to be expected considering that they’re a boot). Haven’t gotten any snow down my boot, feet stayed warm in them in 20-ish degree weather. I bought them a half size large so I could wear thick socks in them with the heat reflective insole, and they fit very well that way, with a little bit of warm air space for my toes. I bought them primarily for pow surfing. They are perfect for me, providing lots of board feel where other boots would’ve been lacking.

Best boot I've ever owned. Warm even in Winnipeg. Wish shipping was easier/cheaper to Canada as I would buy way more.

Amazing

A bit stiffer soled than my Prio shoes, which is to be expected for a waterproof winter boot. My feet have loved Xeros from the first time I put them on!

Perfect shoe for a strong winter

I use the Alpine for walking in the snow every day. Achtually we have very cold temperature (-20 degrees centigrade) and I always have warm feet. I also have done snow shoe walking- excellent. There is just one point. You have to take care about the sizing. I usually have size 12. But I had to go for size 11, which is perfect now. Best regards from Switzerland Urs

Fabulous!

I am sooooo happy that Xero finally released a warm waterproof winter boot. Perfect for snow-hikes, snowshoeing or just wearing on a wet, cold day. My feet NEVER got cold in these babies. The fit seems wider to me than any of their other shoes.... but I actually prefer it. Now I wish my other Xero shoes were this wide!

Comfortable and warm

My first pair of Xero shoes were the Prios, so I compare all other Xero shoes to them. I found the heel of the Alpines to be loose compared to the Prios, so there is a bit of heel slop. This is a concern and will be an issue hiking, but they are comfortable and warm.
