Reports to: President

Summary of Position: The VP Operations at Xero is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and distribution and provides leadership for the end-to-end supply chain and customer service functions. As a member of the leadership team, this person will be a key contributor in setting company strategy, objectives, annual budgets and ensuring the business achieves operating, financial and growth targets. The VP Operations supports our growing order volume, product portfolio, and expanding international operations as a hands-on, dynamic and forward-thinking executive. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of supply chain logistics operations (e.g. picking and packing, shipping, inventory control). Oversee inbound operations and outbound distributions across all facilities and partners, including customer service. 
  • Ensure multi-channel operations strategy and tactics are in line with company growth strategy. Manage supply chain responsibilities, forecasting, planning, budgets, order management, etc in conjunction with sales, marketing, and product development.  
  • Engage and manage relationships with fulfillment partners (e.g. Amazon), carriers and third-party providers. Oversight of factory operations and product development in China and support fulfillment operations in Europe and other potential locations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of operations professionals and ensure operations personnel are engaged, trained and operate in a safe and efficient manner.  
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable domestic and international regulations with respect to customs, trade compliance, and supply chain. Develop and deploy logistics inventory and warehousing standards. Maintain and observe health and safety standards. 

Critical Candidate Experiences

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience in supply chain / logistics / distribution / transportation / warehouse management. 
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in omni-channel multi-SKU fulfillment, including with a 3rd party logistics provider. 
  • Experience working in a growing start up environment with multi-SKU physical goods is preferred.
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining partnerships with fulfillment centers, freight carriers and third-party logistics providers. 
  • Strong knowledge of trade compliance and customs regulations as well as all applicable rules and regulations 
  • Proven experience in successfully building a team from the ground up as well as the ability to manage a large team and to collaborate with cross functional departments. 
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with ERP and WMS systems.
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently, work well under pressure and meet tight timelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong team player.
  • Excellent financial steward, accustomed to managing budgets, performance standards, and effectively operating programs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with our CEO and a small team of highly committed professionals to shape and communicate our vision and mission and reinforce our brand direction and reputation through innovative marketing programs. 
  • Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies in conjunction with our ecommerce and wholesale heads. Develop brand initiatives that reinforce the brand visibility, customer promise, and drive customer acquisition and retention. Set brand practices and ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Oversee new and ongoing marketing and advertising activities to drive the brand message and benefit in the highly competitive shoe space. Act as primary brand ambassador for all PR and social media communication. Manage agency, video production and communication. 
  • Partner with product development to inform product and pricing decisions, provide voice of customer feedback and build appropriate collateral and messaging to drive customer and market awareness.
  • Devise innovative and unique growth strategies, including promotional events, trade shows, partnerships and co-branding initiatives. You should have demonstrated expertise in building purpose-driven programs and events. 
  • Use market research, customer data and branding expertise to monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities. Analyze brand positioning and consumer insights to support programs, customer success and product development.
  • Work with our Director of Digital Marketing to track performance of all marketing campaigns and assess brand equity, performance, revenue, and profitability.
  • Manage both people and budgets effectively.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience in a creative agency account leadership role initiating and driving consumer-facing growth programs, or as a promotions/Brand Manager in a direct-to-consumer business 
  • Highly entrepreneurial mindset, with start-up, early stage and/or new product/category expansion experiences a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and programs that produce repeatable and material revenue and brand impressions. 
  • Communicate and collaborate with others to execute across a rapidly expanding product portfolio; knowledge about domestic and international consumer markets. 
  • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns and programs nationally and internationally
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Data-driven, financially savvy, conscientious, highly motivated to win – and something to prove professionally.
  • Outstanding content developer, communicator and brand ambassador. 
  • Experience with video production, copywriting, creative a plus.

A part of our Design and Development team, this role is under the direction of the Chief Product Officer. You will formulate seasonal material and color stories for the line, as well as trend information and communicate them at brainstorm sessions. You will travel to Asia to work with our team there, attend select trade shows and meetings with key retailers.

The purpose of this role would be to bolster our front-end web development capabilities so that we can quickly deploy technical solutions that can help fuel our growth (e.g., new website capabilities / features) and to provide additional support to the wholesale and customer service sides of the business (e.g., IT support, vendor/retailer support, bug fixes, etc.).

  • Act as a front-end developer on all WordPress and WooCommerce projects, ensuring that all DTC properties and 3rd-party integrations are built to modern web standards, deliver high performance, and match the approved functionality and design.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a full time professional capacity (e.g., not part-time / freelance) as a front-end developer in the online retail / eCommerce industry.
  • Ability to apply a deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, mySQL, and PHP functions to create custom solutions in WordPress and WooCommerce.
  • Strong familiarity with the WooCommerce plugin ecosystem – in particular, applications that support routine eCommerce functionality such as order management, CX, and web analytics.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of the principles of SEO and online marketing.

Xero Shoes, a lifestyle footwear brand focused on helping people everywhere discover the benefits of natural movement, is looking for a motivated, passionate Merchandise Planner who will take the lead in coordinating between sales and operations to ensure that the right product is available to meet customer needs. 

The merchandise planner drives the sales plan through consistent focus on studying the business, monitoring inventory and sales performance, and aligning with product development to ensure that predicted needs of the customer are met. He or she must track how existing product is selling and decide the next steps; this includes developing in-season forecasts and future merchandise plans for a given line and category. 

This position works closely with merchandising, allocations, and ecommerce, wholesalers, and retailers, to optimize product and category assortments across multiple channels of distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Project sales in-season and track open-to-buy purchase budgets
  • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities; compare sales data of the planned gender/category to company sales and communicate major deviations to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Work with the merchant to actively manage inventory levels. This includes planning backup orders on key core items and major initiatives, recommending orders, increasing/decreasing inventory, and/or canceling orders.
  • On a monthly and quarterly basis, recap and report back on the sales results to plan and forecast of in-season sales and inventory. 
  • Establish and monitor store capacity and inventory levels
  • Develop and maintain channel forecasts using store volume, profile, capacity and performance by line/category, seasonality and region; group like stores and create model stock for each line/category
  • Partner with the merchant to create and maintain seasonal assortment plans and category sales plans using store clusters
  • Create allocation strategies based on seasonality, trend, capacity and stock-to-sales, partnering with allocations to develop and implement these strategies
  • Perform bottoms up planning in terms of key item flow, sku sales plans, average stock, and replenishment requirements
  • Work closely with the marketing, product, operations, sales and merchandising teams to develop best-in-class new inventory assortments

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3 – 5 years of experience as a Merchandise Planner with a medium to large size wholesaler, preferably in an ecommerce apparel environment
  • Strong aptitude with numbers and clear understanding of wholesale math skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines

We’re looking for a motivated, passionate photographer whose talents in photography and editing will benefit our graphic design team.

The In-House Photographer and Editor, under the supervision of the Sr. Graphic Design Manager, is responsible for overseeing product photography and editing, as well as some light videography, for use in eCommerce and marketing and will assist with on-location lifestyle photo shoots. The In-House Photographer and Editor will be very detail-oriented, creative, and brand-oriented, highlighting the very best qualities of our products through the images. This position will also be relied upon for various editing, re-touching and formatting needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Images need to be shot at our location to ensure accurate samples are being used.
  • Set up product shots, including styling and setting up lighting. 
  • Follow direction on product representation and multiple standardized views/angles for each product.
  • Ability to follow a detailed shot list as provided for product launches.
  • Take high quality, color-correct product photos that are in line with company standards.
  • Obtain photos that require minimum Photoshop work is ideal.
  • As images are approved, some post work to include: color-correcting, image sizing/formatting, archiving, etc
  • Create product layouts with props 
  • Work with employee models on local lifestyle photoshoots 
  • Generate 360 Rendering scans with external software (will provide light training)
  • Generate short video clips of shoe features
  • Adhere to a filing system of images to match sku’s, style/color names 
  • Maintain photography archive 
  • Fulfill images request from internal and external clients

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or similar field with professional photography experience preferred
  • Background in footwear/fashion photography (product and lifestyle) is a major plus
  • Demonstrated experience shooting and editing images for eCommerce is required (must submit a link to your online portfolio.)
  • Knowledge of DSLR camera functionality and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is required.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume of photography and photo edits to meet both long-term and tight deadlines 

Skills:

  • Experience in Product Photography, Layout Photography, and Lifestyle Photography. 
  • Strong knowledge of lighting, composition and photo styling.
  • Creativity with a good eye for composition and color balance.
  • Detailed oriented and able to work on multiple projects/tasks at one time.
  • Image retouching and color correcting experience with product and lifestyle photography.
  • Familiarity with trends in the outdoor sportswear, footwear, and fitness industries is helpful.

Job Type: Full-time, benefitted

Pay: The hourly wage for this position ranges between $24-26/hour DOE 

This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.  The range listed is just one component of Xero’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and equity awards.

Traditionally this position has been on-site and is expected to return to an onsite role once COVID restrictions are lifted. Since March 2020, the team has been working both in our Broomfield office and remotely. All COVID precautions are strictly in place.
