Product Description

“These are really comfortable shoes. My feet never feel confined, in fact, I forget I’m wearing shoes.” – Heather P.

HFS II – A New Take On Our Most Popular Running Shoe

An evolution of our best selling road running shoe, the HFS II is even more comfortable, and more stylish.

While we call it a road runner, we know you’ll do much more in it and can’t wait to see the pics of where it takes you and what you do.

A woman running down an open dirt road on a sunny day in her HFS IIs

Light, Grippier, and Comfier

Like the original HFS, the HFS II is super lightweight (6.7 oz, W7) so you’ll feel like you’re flying down the road. And with a new tire tread-inspired outsole, you’ll feel secure even if you go off road.

HFS II is so comfy, you might forget to take them off at the end of your run – we’ve even had people go to bed still wearing their shoes because they forgot they had them on!

We Haven’t Sole-d Out 🙂

The HFS II sole looks thick, but it’s an illusion.

We’ve added a thin BareFoam™ layer for extra protection and wrapped it, cup-like, around the upper giving the HFS II a more familiar-looking profile.

Made to Last

Like all Xero Shoes, the HFS II has a 5,000 mile sole warranty to outlast typical running shoes that are supposed to be replaced after 200-500 miles.

Why HFS?

Well, it could be for the “Highly Flexible Sole” that lets your foot move naturally, or the face you’ll make when you put it on — “Happy Face Shoe” — or the way you run in it with a “High Frequency Stride”, or what you exclaim when you put it on and feel the comfort and light weight: “Holy ___ ___!”

There are as many possible answers as there are things you’ll do in the HFS II.

WE MAKE PERFORMANCE SHOES SO COMFORTABLE, YOU’LL FORGET THEY’RE EVEN ON.

If your feet don’t feel as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, you haven’t tried the HFS II.

Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from letting your feet do what’s natural – bend, move, flex and feel.

All Xero Shoes feature a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets your toes spread and relax, a non-elevated “zero drop” heel for proper posture, low-to-the-ground design for perfect balance and agility, and a flexible sole that gives you “just right” protection so you can bend, move, flex, and Live Life Feet First!

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer.

It’s not. But the breathable mesh upper should help it dry quickly if you get them wet.

Practically anything. The Prio is our first “performance” shoe.

It’s great road running, light trail running, walking, hiking, working out, Crossfit, biking, slacklining… it’s obviously up to you. Once you get them on, I’m sure you’ll do things we never thought of (and we want to see pictures of that!).

Put on your Prio and Live Life Feet First!

I’ll admit, this is one of my favorite things about the Prio.

The huarache-sandal inspired heel strap can be used to hold your heel and ankle in place. Pull the straps through the ankle holes in the sole, and then lock them in place with the laces.

The instep straps can be used to secure your instep, which can free up your toes and forefoot to relax and function better. Use the laces to tighten or loosen them to your liking.

The Prio is our best-selling “do almost anything” shoe — running, hiking, working out, you name it.
With a durable upper, it provides a bit more protection.

The Speed Force is our lightest, “most barefoot” shoe.
More feedback as you step and a mesh upper that holds like a glove, you get a “barely there” experience.

The HFS is lighter than the Prio, more rugged than the Speed Force.
The HFS’s sole has a tire tread-inspired sole that’s made to handle roads and have extra traction.
The huarache-inspired midfoot and instep straps are “hiding” behind a protective welded material.
And the moisture wicking lining for extra comfort and breathability.

My daughter's favorite shoes!!

I was scrolling through the xero webpage with my daughter, helping her pick out new shoes. She immediately called off the search when she saw these. "That's it! Those are the ones!" She asked about shipping updates everyday until they came. They're now all she wants to wear. She's been randomly asking to run places now that she has her "running shoes." I think it's safe to say, she's a fan!

Convinced me of the barefoot hype

I have plantar fasciitis that makes long walks painful even in my super-supportive brooks running shoes. I transitioned to these and, after several months of an adjustment period, my long walks are far less painful. I do still need to stop and stretch my feet every mile or so, but that's a vast improvement for me. I wish there were more subtle colors for wearing to work.

love the color, a little stiff at first

I LOVE the reflecting pond color, it caught my eye from when it first came out and I finally got a pair. it's awesome. I have two other pairs of Xeros (mesa trail and oswego) that I love. These seem a little more stiff and require a little break in rather than immediate out of the box comfort. I also had an issue with my right foot, which is a little wide at the ball of my foot, initially hanging over the edge of the raised rubber sole edge and causing pain. I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep the shoes, but I wore them around the house for a few hours and it improved, so given the gorgeous color I kept them. That seems mostly better as I've worn them a couple days, but wasn't a problem at all with my other xeros and their thinner sole / not having that raised rubber that goes over the fabric a little. I'm sure they'll break in and get even more comfortable as I continue to wear them. I've been really impressed with the quality of my other xeros and am sure these will be the same and last for lots of walks and wear!

HFS II are the best!

I love the HFS II shoes! The white ones are my third pair. I am an active 79 year old and for longer walks these shoes are the most comfortable. I need the extra cushioning. I also own two pair of older HFS and use them for working out. They don't hold up for long walks without my feet starting to ache.

Durable Shoe, bad colors

I bought this shoe fall 2023, and wear it almost every day to walk and run in. I've put almost 600 running miles on them (not counting my daily walks to and from work) and I am very impressed with the durability of the shoe. I had assumed the uppers would break down where my foot flexes, as I've had this happen to me with shoes in the past, and I was proven wrong! The uppers look almost brand new, the soles are fine, and the shoes wash up so nice after putting them in the washing machine! Overall I would buy the shoe again, but I wish it was available in prettier colors, I'm not really a fan of the new "tidal wave" color and offering 2 different shades of gray is kind of boring. I would love to see something bright, but doesn't scream "barefoot shoe". I love some of the old HFS colors and I'm sad there is no pink or purples offered in these. Even the HFS gray color was pretty.
