James O’Brien

James O’Brien MSPT, OCS, CSCS is a physical therapist and the founder of PerfectingMovement.Net; a website dedicated to teaching people how to get out of pain and prevent injury.  Prior to becoming a physical therapist, James was an airborne infantryman in the United States Army having served with the 82nd Airborne Division during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  After his time in service, he got out of the military with one too many aches and pains and decided he needed to learn how to fix himself, and to help others do same.

In 2009 he graduated from the University of CT with a Master’s Degree in Physical therapy and in 2013 became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist of physical therapy. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA and a has been certified as Running Technique Specialist. James’s approach is founded upon the belief that there is a right and a wrong way to move based on the human anatomical design.

His belief is that true injury prevention and performance enhancement rely on restoring the body’s “natural” movement patterns, or where the body moves with greatest amount of efficiency.  Through targeted strength and flexibility training, as well as the mindful effort toward movement correction, he has helped his clients and patients live a stronger and more pain free life.
