“If you’re a hiker with wide feet who wants a hiking boot that feels more like a shoe than a stiff, clunky hiking boot, make these your pick,” says Erica Zazo, a freelance outdoor and travel writer. “I typically have problems with narrow boots, but putting the Xero Scrambler Mid II boots on my feet felt like a glove. They have lots of room in the toe box and give my feet lots of room to breathe even if it’s hot outside.” – CNN Underscored

“This boot has become my favorite go to boot to wear daily. Comfy and safe for an old hiker. Fits like a worn in moccasin.” – Ken A.
Ever have that feeling at the end of an epic hike where you can’t wait to kick off your heavy, stiff boots?
You’ll never feel that again when you wear the updated Scrambler Mid II. They’re so lightweight and breathable that you might forget to take them off.
Jonathan K., Verified Scrambler Mid II CustomerThe Michelin sole gives an excellent sense of the ground, but with good grip. I now have lightweight hiking shoes that let me feel the trail with an ample toe box and flexible sole.
Scrambler Mid II is a collaboration with Michelin, the car and bike tire company.
If you could see inside the thin Michelin fiberlite sole, you’d find an embedded textile layer, giving the sole unparalleled strength, flexibility, and lightness.
Plus, with mud-shedding lugs inspired by Michelin’s high-performance mountain bike tires, you feel the confidence that comes with incredible grip.
The Scrambler Mid II may appear to have a thick sole, leading you to assume that Xero Shoes has sold out.
Far from it. While the boot has a thin layer of our TrailFoam™ to provide extra comfort and protection on rough trails, the thick sole is an illusion created by our design team to make this look like a conventional hiking boot. You get the lightweight flexibility you’ve come to expect from Xero Shoes. Averaging just 11.7 oz per shoe (men’s 9), a pair of the Scrambler Mid II weighs less than just one single boot from most other companies.
Like all our shoes, the Scrambler Mid II is made to give you season after season of outdoor fun and is covered by our 5,000-mile sole warranty.
Keep your feet protected from dirt, debris, and mud with the Scrambler Mid II’s upgraded abrasion-resistant, vegan-friendly, breathable upper and welded sidewalls.
Stay dry and comfortable with the moisture-wicking lining that still allows airflow even on the hottest days on the trail.
And when the elements give you an extra challenge, attach your favorite gaiter to the included hook and tackle the next peak.
Whether you take it for a day trip or a month-long thru-hike, the Scrambler Mid II is your perfect companion to Live Life Feet First!

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer.
We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.
All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.
Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.
International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.
Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.
All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.
After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.
You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.
You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

I’ve been wearing Xero shoes exclusively since 2021, they’ve only gotten better!
These shoes are generally really great, but for barefoot shoes, the toe box just isn't quite wide enough. Better than conventional shoes for sure, but could have a bit more room.
Have been wearing daily for a couple months now and they’re not holding up quite as well as I’d hoped. The material on top of the toes is starting to fray where the crease is. Also the one of the side straps is starting to peel off. Otherwise they are comfortable and lightweight.
I own quite a few pairs of Xero shoes. This is the first time I bought hiking boots. They are extremely comfortable, have excellent grip, and I hiked miles in them right after getting them. Absolutely love these boots!
These boots were exactly what I was hoping for; very light weight, while still supportive and comfortable, even on longer hikes. I'm 6'2" 215 and they really did feel good all day. The problem with them is build quality. The first pair I had started delaminating after the first hike (less than 10 miles) and the second pair started delaminating after the second hike (less than 30 miles - probably more like 25 miles). If you look through their reviews, you'll see other people having the same issue. Having said that, the company really does honor their return policy. As I mentioned, they replaced the boots the first time with another pair of the same boot. The second time I stated that I just wasn't confident that particular model was built to last and expressed an interest in swapping to the Ridgeway, and they let me do that no questions asked. They're not the quickest to respond, but they do seem to stand behind their product. Fingers crossed the Ridgeways last longer (I'll review them after I've got some miles on them).
Wide toe boxes let your toes spread and relax. "Zero-drop" non-elevated heel for proper posture.
Our patented FeelTrue sole protects your foot while giving your brain the feedback and stimulation required.
Flexible soles let your foot bend and flex naturally. Low-to-the-ground design for balance and agility.

When people ask, “How long will my Xero Shoes last?” we say, “We don’t know, but it’s going to be a long, long time!”
That’s why we offer this 5,000 mile sole warranty.
If you wear your FeelTrue® outsoles (or FeelTrue® section of Z-Trail) down to less than 1mm thick at the ball or heel of the foot (not an edge), we’ll replace them with the same product for the following price:
60% off MSRP (full, non-sale, listed, retail price) for the product, plus shipping.
We also offer a 24 Month Manufacturing Warranty, which covers defects and flaws that may happen in the first two years. We will offer a free replacement for orders that qualify.
