Scrambler Low – Your Ultralight Hiking and Trail Running Shoe
Get ready to race, hike, scramble, and explore in style with the Scrambler Low – perhaps the lightest, most comfortable, and breathable trail shoe you’ve ever encountered.
Our second collaboration with Michelin, the Scrambler Low, redefines performance, comfort, and versatility.
The Scrambler Low shares the Michelin made, mountain bike tire-inspired outsole with its sibling, our Scrambler Mid.
The sole uses Michelin’s fiberlite technology, an embedded textile layer that creates a thin, lightweight, flexible, strong product.
At just 9.3 oz. per shoe (M9), the Scrambler Low weighs less than many hiking sandals.
You’ll enjoy the breathable mesh upper year round.
The iconic Xero Shoes adjustable instep and midfoot straps will help you feel secure no matter where you take the Scrambler Low.
If your feet don’t feel as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, you haven’t tried the Scrambler Low.
Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from letting your feet do what’s natural – bend, move, flex and feel.
All Xero Shoes feature a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets your toes spread and relax, a non-elevated “zero drop” heel for proper posture, low-to-the-ground design for perfect balance and agility, and a flexible sole that gives you “just right” protection so you can bend, move, flex, and Live Life Feet First!

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer.
We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.
All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.
Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.
International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.
Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.
All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.
After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.
You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.
You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

I am writing this review in mid spring after putting about 150 miles on these shoes over a few months of winter and mud. Out of the box they were instantly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn, and 150 miles later they are still the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. They are not even close. Nearly all my miles are on rocky mountain trails. I run through creeks and scree and boulders with them and never had a slip, and they look like they are still new. They are so light you can barely tell you are wearing a shoe, but they have held up far better than my so-called mountain boots and trail shoes that I have used in the past. There was no "breaking in" period, no hot spots or blisters or toes cramped together. When I run through creeks my feet are dry like 15 minutes later. I do not know how this happens. My foot arches are stronger now, my achilles pain is much better than on my previous shoes, and they still look and feel new. I am never going back. I don't know if I will ever need to buy shoes again.
These are actually the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Bought them originally as extra hiking shoes for shorter or lower elevation trails, but I’ve been wearing them regularly instead.
I'll start by saying that I am a big fan of the principles and ideas behind Xero shoes. I have three pairs of HFS and absolutely love them for everything except technical trail running and hiking. I bought Scrambler Low in December of '24 for those purposes and loved them initially for their comfort, fit and just the right amount of protection and grip on technical trails. However, it is the end of April, '25 and the upper started to unravel on both shoes and one of the straps ripped. I am glad I got them on sale, but even at $75 it was a waste. Who cares about 5,000 mile sole warranty if the rest of the shoe can't last 5 months?!
Shoes have been as advertised. Had been buying cheap Amazon brands as I wasn’t sure if barefoot was right for me. Once I knew that this was the way I decided to go more premium and since Xero is a local company to me decided to give them first crack. Got these on clearance for half off and they have been great. Super comfy, even without the liner and I get about 15 to 23 thousand steps in a day for my job. What I didn’t expect was how good they are as golf shoes. My feet always hurt walking in traditional golf shoes so the first time out on the course was a game changer. Traction is great, hitting the ball better, and since I’m now connected to the ground there’s way more power output. If xero ever made a golf dedicated shoe I would never consider buying anything else! Or if you’re looking for someone to start up a golf line I would happily volunteer! Wink, wink
