Is the Ashland temperature rated?

We find that temperature ratings aren’t very accurate. They vary greatly depending on environmental factors, like humidity and typical weather (a Tennessee snowstorm is quite different from one in Colorado!)

While the Ashland isn’t temperature rated, it would have a faux-shearling collar and heat-reflective insole to help keep your feet warmer!

Is the Ashland Waterproof?

It’s not. But the Ashland’s hemp canvas upper can be treated to provide additional water resistance.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).

Caring for your Ashlands

To clean your Ashlands, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer.

Not my favorite

I personally do not find these to be the best pair of Xero I own. The tonic is narrower than most Xero’s are, granted they are a house shoe— but still, they are just not great, the most annoying thing being the little tension strap on the side— which constantly comes undone and then flaps around. I love all my other Xero shoes and boots— but not these.

Nice idea, not nice fit

I bought the women's Ashland boots on clearance, going on the Xero Shoes rep and my short experience with barefoot shoes, that they would be great, especially for winter cold weather with my go-to rag wool socks. They came well-padded and packaged. The description says they run large and recommends to buy a half size smaller. Am glad I didn't! I stayed with my usual shoe size 9, as I plan to wear them with my padded go-to rag wool socks for warmth. Although they are easy to get onto my high-arched feet (!!) and are well-made, in a nice shade of purple, the fit is off. The toe box width is narrow and depth is shallow, yet the heal is deep and loose, even after attempts to tighten down the huarache straps, which is difficult because the shoe fabric is stiff and the latch is on the heal side where it is hard to reach. Why not put the latch on the side?? I feel like I'm wearing clogs, trying to keep them on my heals, yet even with the barefoot design forefront, my toes still feel cramped, and smashed down on top. Wearing lighter weight socks is not an option in winter and would make the heal even more loose. I wonder how stain-resistant the fabric is going to be in inclement weather. Am hoping Xero Shoes has improved on this style in newer versions, as it has alotta potential. Meanwhile, since clearance shoes can't be returned, I must learn to live with them -- a costly mistake I won't make again.

Just ok

The canvass is good for dewy grass but the open top allows lots of debris into the shoe. I usually get men's Xero shoes because they are wider, but these are wide enough. The shoe is loose, which I normally prefer, but it is loose at the heel, so it feels like it is going to come off. The strap and clasp help a little, but not a lot.

One of the best footware purchases I’ve ever made. Bought the first pair a half-size smaller as suggested. Loved them, so bought a second pair my regular size to wear with socks. I meant them for house shoes but don’t want to take them off when I head out the door. Besides, it’s nice to have compliments on what you wear and these get those.

Perfect for everywhere

Love these for at home or town. Comfy and fast to put on. Added bonus of stability of a shoe while feeling like a slipper. No tripping issues with these either! They are plenty wide so I bought normal size.
