Product Description

“The Terraflex II is very breathable. It has great grip and sheds mud well, it keeps a nice safe grip on the trail and tarmac. ” – Jessica D.

The TerraFlex II is a lighter and more flexible update to the best-selling original — all without sacrificing any of the trail-gripping traction, secure fit, or all-day comfort that people loved about the TerraFlex.

With it’s grippy, lugged soles, the TerraFlex is built for running and hiking on trails.

That’s not to say you can’t walk, stroll, road run, Crossfit and much more… you can.

Put on your TerraFlex and Live Life Feet First!

This is one of my favorite features in the TerraFlex.

The huarache-sandal inspired heel strap can be used to hold your heel and ankle in place. Pull the straps through the ankle holes in the sole, and then lock them in place with the laces.

The instep straps can be used to secure your instep, which can free up your toes and forefoot to relax and function better. Use the laces to tighten or loosen them to your liking.

The TerraFlex is our first shoe designed for trails. With a rugged, stitched upper, it’s great for running and hiking.

The Mesa Trail is made more specifically for trail running, with a lightweight breathable mesh upper, extra moisture wicking with the “37.5” lining, and a protective welded covering for the adjustable midfoot and instep straps.

Both shoes have a grippy, lugged, dual-chevron tread, and a 3mm TrailFoam layer (“hiding” in the outsole) for just-right protection and comfort.

Shoe sizing, especially online, is not a perfect process. That’s why we have a free exchange policy.

For EU/UK/JP sizing, there’s a conversion chart at the bottom of the TerraFlex product description.

The TerraFlex now runs fairly true to size. We recommend going with your usual athletic shoe size.

The TerraFlex is wider than conventional trail running shoes.

Sizing for a shoe is different than a sandal, so if you own one of our sandals, that doesn’t mean you’ll pick the same size in the TerraFlex, so use the measuring info if you can.

Keep in mind, though, that because the foot is three-dimensional, any two-dimensional measuring tool, such as a ruler or Brannock device®, can only approximate your true shoe size. Manufacturers model their shoes on different foot shapes, which is why you might be an 8 in one brand and a 9 in another. And then, there’s personal preference: three people with identical feet might think the same shoe fits differently.

If your foot is really narrow and smaller than a men’s 10, you may want to check out the “women’s” TerraFlex. The conversion between men’s and women’s is 1.5, so a women’s 8 is the same as a men’s 6.5.

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

Please go to Xero Shoes Return Policy page to learn about our 45-day return policy.

My new favorite Xero shoes

I have absolutely fallen in love with these shoes and these are amazing in the tougher surfaces. Still the perfect barefoot feel with great protection due to the lugged sole. Yet, they still allow great foot motion/mobility and simply make my dog walks even more fun!

Great hiker

There’s something magic when you slip on a shoe and to 3 miles on rugged terrain with no blisters at the end. These are well made, have decent grip and are super comfortable.

So comfy I bought another pair!

I love the TerraFlex II. I wear them hiking and they are so comfy that after wearing them for a year now out on the trails they are still going strong. I decided before they disappear off the website I’d grab another pair. Every time I find something I love the companies seem to discontinue it so since these are so comfy and my feet love them I grabbed another pair! I usually wear a womans 7 but have to get a 7.5 in these. The 7 was too short and my toes were hitting the front. I highly recommend these!

Thicker sole but very comfortable

I normally love my mesa trail shoes for everything but needed something that could handle rainy weather. These are thicker soled and thicker all around which had me nervous at first but still very comfortable. Highly recommend them. They’re not technically waterproof but resilient enough for rainy weather and squishy ground

Lightweight Hiking Shoe

I love these shoes! As barefoot shoes, they don’t need a breaking-in period per se, but I needed to get used to them. The crease, or the mesh that moves with you as you lift your heel to stride, took some getting used to. It wasn’t in the same spot as any other shoe I have. Now that I’m used to them, I use them to hike with my dog every day. They provide sufficient traction while letting my feet move naturally!

Great walking shoes

The zero heel rise is the key. It's been a significant help so far (several weeks) to improving my walking posture, overall posture, and core strength, which had all gone a bit wonky over the years. They are also very comfortable. I emailed to make sure I got the right size, and their guidance was spot on. I do wish they had more grip/tread, and I eventually added some foam inserts (in addition to the ones that come with the shoes) which I do with all of my footwear. Can't wait to take them on longer hikes!

Just perfect

I love these shoes so much! They are the opposite of everything I dislike about other hiking shoes I’ve tried, which have been stiff, heavy, and have my feet hurting at the end of a hike. These are light, flexible, and let my feet bend and move flexibly, all while still feeling sturdy and protective enough for rough terrain (but I also love wearing them just to walk the dog around the neighborhood). Highly recommend for hiking and everyday walking shoes. As a bonus, the design is stylish too!

So Far, So Good!

These are my first pair of foot-friendly shoes, and as suggested I am wearing them not all of the time to allow myself to get used to them. I can say that so far they are comfy, not causing me any issues, and that probably for the first time in my 67+ years my poor old toes have enough room and are very happy! Remains to be seen if they will work out for me in the long run, but I am very optimistic!!!!

Love this style for hiking

I live all my Xero shoes, I have 7 pair but these are my favorite for hiking so I needed another pair. They are comfortable out if the box and hold up well. I’m glad to see the inserts are now sold so I could replace my other pairs because honestly that’s what goes first! The shoe holds up very well! I had to go up a half size to get the perfect fit

Love these TerraFlex II

I love the comfort. They give me the perfect amount of cushion since I am new to barefoot shoes. I plan on using them for my garden shoes. But they are also great for just getting out and walking. I was using the Prio but my feet weren’t used to the thinner sole so they were hurting a little. The TeraFlex is great for walking. The bottom of my feet feel good.
