Product Description

“The TerraFlex II is sturdy and protective against outdoor terrain. I really like it for running sprints and up hills and dirt trails. It’s a really great outdoor shoe.” – Chase B.

The TerraFlex II is an update to the best-selling original featuring a more abrasion and water-resistant upper — with no sacrifices to any of the trail-gripping traction, secure fit, and all-day comfort that people loved about the TerraFlex.

FEEL CONNECTED TO YOUR WORLD WHEN YOU RUN OR HIKE IN THE TERRAFLEX II

SECURE, TRAIL-GRIPPING COMFORT.

Whether you’re running, hiking, or simply taking a casual stroll off the beaten path, the TerraFlex II helps you feel more connected to the ground beneath your feet.

The rugged 6.5mm FeelTrue® sole, including 4mm lugs for confident traction, provides the perfect combination of protection and ground feel for any off-road activity. The embedded 3mm layer of TrailFoam™ provides added comfort and protection and the toe bumper helps guard against unexpected bumps you encounter along your way.

Finally, our huarache-inspired heel cinch and mid-foot webbing remain fully adjustable, giving you a secure and stable fit throughout your adventure, while the iconic wider toe box lets your toes splay and flex to empower your stride.

LIGHTWEIGHT PROTECTION THAT FEELS JUST RIGHT.

At just 8.9 oz each for a men’s size 9, the TerraFlex II is even lighter than the original, placing it just between our ultra-lightweight Mesa Trail running shoe and the multi-purpose DayLite Hiker Fusion boot. This is one hiking shoe that won’t slow you down, keeping you going from trailhead to summit.

WE MAKE HIKING SHOES SO COMFORTABLE, YOU’LL FORGET THEY’RE EVEN ON.

If your feet don’t feel as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, you haven’t tried the TerraFlex II.

Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from letting your feet do what’s natural – bend, move, flex and feel.

All Xero Shoes feature a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets your toes spread and relax, a non-elevated “zero drop” heel for proper posture, low-to-the-ground design for perfect balance and agility, and a flexible sole that gives you “just right” protection so you can bend, move, flex, and safely Feel the World® in total comfort.

With it’s grippy, lugged soles, the TerraFlex is built for running and hiking on trails.

That’s not to say you can’t walk, stroll, road run, Crossfit and much more… you can.

Put on your TerraFlex and Live Life Feet First!

This is one of my favorite features in the TerraFlex.

The huarache-sandal inspired heel strap can be used to hold your heel and ankle in place. Pull the straps through the ankle holes in the sole, and then lock them in place with the laces.

The instep straps can be used to secure your instep, which can free up your toes and forefoot to relax and function better. Use the laces to tighten or loosen them to your liking.

The TerraFlex is our first shoe designed for trails. With a rugged, stitched upper, it’s great for running and hiking.

The Mesa Trail is made more specifically for trail running, with a lightweight breathable mesh upper, extra moisture wicking with the “37.5” lining, and a protective welded covering for the adjustable midfoot and instep straps.

Both shoes have a grippy, lugged, dual-chevron tread, and a 3mm TrailFoam layer (“hiding” in the outsole) for just-right protection and comfort.

Shoe sizing, especially online, is not a perfect process. That’s why we have a free exchange policy.

For EU/UK/JP sizing, there’s a conversion chart at the bottom of the TerraFlex product description.

The TerraFlex now runs fairly true to size. We recommend going with your usual athletic shoe size.

The TerraFlex is wider than conventional trail running shoes.

Sizing for a shoe is different than a sandal, so if you own one of our sandals, that doesn’t mean you’ll pick the same size in the TerraFlex, so use the measuring info if you can.

Keep in mind, though, that because the foot is three-dimensional, any two-dimensional measuring tool, such as a ruler or Brannock device®, can only approximate your true shoe size. Manufacturers model their shoes on different foot shapes, which is why you might be an 8 in one brand and a 9 in another. And then, there’s personal preference: three people with identical feet might think the same shoe fits differently.

If your foot is really narrow and smaller than a men’s 10, you may want to check out the “women’s” TerraFlex. The conversion between men’s and women’s is 1.5, so a men’s 8 is the same as a women’s 9.5.

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

Please go to Xero Shoes Return Policy page to learn about our 45-day return policy.

Great!

These are my first minimalist shoes and I love them, especially the wide toe box!

They're great, but about the outsole..

Look, I really like these shoes. They assuage some bone spur pains that I've had for as long as I can remember and I love the look. However, I'm getting a lack of mileage from the outsoles that makes them cost prohibitive as a daily driver. I walk a fair bit more than the average person so my issue may be a statistical outlier. With both the prio and terraflex I've worn the tread completely smooth or close to it on the ball of the foot in under 90 days and approximately 600 miles traveled for each pair. I'd rather not fork out $100+ quarterly and be limping between pairs. Again, I really like these shoes. Just bought a pair of xcursion fusion on sale and I'll probably continue to be a customer after that, but I can't mark out properly and get married to xero til the outsoles are ready to make a commitment, if you can pick up what I'm dropping here. One last thing and I really mean this to be simply informative, and not a complaint: I didn't expect this but the terraflex shell only held up to a fraction of the abuse I put the prio through before ripping in a few locations that are the usual suspects for me when I start walking out of my footwear. The terraflex redeemed this moral loss by actually being somewhat water repellent while my prios continued getting soggy at the mere sight of high atmospheric precipitation. Long story short, I'll likely still always have a pair, but not for a daily driver, as I can't reconcile the MSRP with the mileage I get out of them.

Awesome

I love my new Xero TerraFlex II. I'm switching over from 10+ years in another barefoot shoe and couldn't be more pleased. Great ground feel, terrific traction and super comfortable.

Great shoe, great service

I love these shoes. I will admit I can be pretty hard on my shoes. I hike, backpack, bike, raft, and kayak. I expect my shoes to keep up with me. Some time after purchasing this shoe the sole started to come unglued. After a quick correspondence with Xero shoes I had a new pair on the way!

So far, so good!

I was looking for a more minimalist-style shoe to hike in and this has been perfect. I previously had some Merrell shoes but they would hurt my feet after about a mile so I would end up switching back to my Reebok Nanos for the rest of the trails/trip. I wore these for a week of hiking in the PNW and I had no problems! I usually wear a 12 in Reebok Nanos and a 12.5 in most Nike shoes and I went with a 12.5 in this and it's perfect.
