NOTE: The Daylite Hiker has a wider toe box than conventional women’s shoes. If your feet are particularly wide, consider the Men’s Daylite Hiker Fusion. Just make sure to adjust the size by 1.5 (for example, a men’s 8 is the same length as a women’s 9.5).

Is the DayLite Hiker Waterproof?

It’s not waterproof because the tongue is independent of the rest of the upper, though the ballistic mesh material in the upper definitely makes this boot a little more rain-friendly than most other footwear. If you really want to keep the water at bay, check out our Xcursion — Xero’s first fully waterproof boot.

What’s different between the Men’s and Women’s DayLite Hiker?

We use “men’s” and “women’s” as a matter of convention. We know there are some men who will fit better in the “women’s” shoe, and vice versa.

The “men’s” style is a bit wider across the toes and in the heel. The women’s, conversely, has a narrower heel and slightly less-wide toe box.

If you’re a man with a very thin foot, or a women with a wide foot, you may want to try the “other” style.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).

To clean your Daylite Hikers Fusions, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting the Daylite Hiker Fusion in the washing machine or dryer.

Comfy and lightweight

But sturdy. I ordered these in a size 8 (usually a size 7.5/8), and had to exchange them for an 8.5. When I first put the 8.5 on, I thought they were too small AGAIN, but I walked around my house a bit and they fit perfectly. I've only gone on one hike so far, but my feet (and the rest of me) felt great during and after.

I knew I couldn’t go wrong!

I previously purchased a pair of rain boots for myself and sneakers for my child. They are super comfortable (I have wide feet) and we both love them so I came straight back to Xero shoes when I decided to finally purchase hiking boots for our upcoming trip. We tested these pairs on our local trail with waterfalls and I regret I didn’t buy them earlier. They are light weight and comfortable but have good protection, and dry out fast. I even feel like these are customized just for me. I know there are other barefoot hiking shoes out there but many are way more expensive and I would not buy them for my child who would outgrow them in a few months but I know how important it is to choose a good functional pair for the growing feet so thank you for existing, Xero shoes! I will probably get tired from my future hikes but not from my shoes anymore 🙂

DayLite Hiker for the win!

Got the DayLites specifically for hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and North Carolina. They were awesome. True to size, lightweight, water resistant for those creek crossings. Loved every minute of hiking in my DayLites!!

So sad...

I was so excited to get my DayLite Hiker! I went to REI to pick them up. I tried them on before I left the store. They are soooo cute and everything was comfy until I walked around for a bit...the back of my ankles were killing me. I asked the worker if this was normal or cannhe help me adjust them. He told me...that this is a common issue. He, himself, had a pair and they did the same thing. The way the shoe is cut...they cut deep into the back of the ankle. Phhooeey....I wanted these to work foe my up and coming trip to Alaska. Now it's back to square one. On another note...I own about 10 pairs of xero shoes....love them all. These were the first hikers. Ugh...

Needed to Return for Another 1/2 Size Larger

My shoe size is a straight 7. I followed the instructions to order a 1/2 size larger and they were very small. I had to send them back and order a full size larger, so I did not have them for the hiking weekend planned. When they arrived, the shoe box was torn and some random cardboard flaps were inside the shoe box. The color is true to the photo, but it's a bland color. People rave about these shoes so I wanted to try them. I think I'm still trying to figure out why.
