Product Description

We started with our best-selling trail hiking and running shoe, the TerraFlex, and morphed it into a high-topped, fully waterproof hiking boot that’s ready for your next extreme adventure. Meet the Xcursion.

Here’s how the Xcursion gives you the protection you want:

  • Gusseted tongue and sealed waterproof inner liner
  • Additional water-repellent membrane inside the outer mesh
  • Durable protective toe cap, foxing, and accents

Just 12 ounces each for a men’s size 9, the minimalist Xcursion boot feels like no hiker you’ve ever worn. In fact, whether you’re on a day hike or fully loaded with a heavy pack, the Xcursion gives you the grip and support you want while still feeling like a “barefoot boot.”

The other reasons you’ll love the Xcursion are its true Xero Shoes heritage:

  • A wide toe box — lets your toes spread, splay and move naturally
  • Low-to-the-ground design for balance and agility
  • Non-elevated, “zero-drop” heel for proper posture
  • The flexible sole lets your feet bend and move the way they’re supposed to
  • High-traction FeelTrue® rubber sole with dual-chevron tread for traction, backed by our 5,000 mile sole warranty
  • Lightweight construction for “barely there” comfort

Let’s see what adventure you take on in your Xcursion. Show us how you Live Life Feet First!

Please go to Xero Shoes Return Policy page to learn about our 45-day return policy.

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

Best Hiking Partners Ever

I took the Xcursions on a 13 mile summit test run around Ice Lake basin, and I could not have been more pleased. In the past I have worn Asolo TPS 520, and these blow those out of the water. Much more comfortable, much lighter, and much sexier. Zero blisters.

Waterproof, FTW!

I recently completed a 110+ mile hike at Philmont Scout Ranch in the New Mexico Rockies with my DayLite Hikers. They performed beyond expectations. By far, the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever used. I wish I'd had the new Xcursions for my trip, as they are similar to the DayLite Hikers with the additional feature of being waterproof! Plus, they enhanced the design to address some "would have been nice" options on the DayLite Hikers -- additional traction and neoprene heel wrap -- that make them even MORE comfortable than the DayLite Hikers (is that even possible? YES!). Plus, did I mention, they're waterproof? The Xcursions have a neoprene heel wrap that makes these boots even more comfortable than the DayLite Hikers (makes them better looking boots, too, IMHO). They also have a much more aggressive tread (something that I didn't "need" at Philmont, but would have been nice). They've also added laced lugs to the last two lace holes. Combined with the neoprene wrap, the lugs make these boots MUCH easier to get on and off. The sizing (for me) is still the same as my DayLite Hikers. That being said, I normally wear a size 10 shoe. In hiking boots, I generally go up half a size to allow for swelling and two layers of socks. With the Xcursions (just like my DayLite Hikers), I went up to an 11 to get the right fit. This assumes you do the same with hiking boots (two layers of socks, plus room for swelling). If you're just going to wear these with regular socks around town, I would suggest staying closer to your actual shoe size. They're still super lightweight and flexible, as you would expect from a XeroShoes product. They're a little bit heavier than the DayLite Hikers (by 2oz.), but I seriously doubt anyone would notice the difference. When I return to Philmont, next summer, there's no question that I will again wear XeroShoes. Now, the question is do I go with the Xcursions or the TerraFlex? Probably the Xcursions, just to have that added protection from the water.

Great shoes that just keep getting better!

Finally the protection and traction of a hiking boot with fit and feel of a minimalist shoe! I have only worn the shoes once so far but they are similar in design to the DayLite Hikers I had, and address the things I found lacking in the DayLite. Like the DayLite they are light and comfortable, but have better traction (same soles as my TerraFlex?) and are water proof, so should be suitable for most of my outdoor activities throughout most of the year. And of course there is the "5,000-mile sole warranty" combined with XeroShoes great customer support (yes, I have had issues with a pair of XeroShoes, but they made it right with no fuss). So, yeah I am very happy with my purchase.
