“I was impressed with just how little I thought about it on everything from muddy trails to road walks. And unlike traditional hiking boots, it’s still exceptionally flexible, bending with the foot as you roll through your stride.” – Outdoor Life
$50.99 – $84.99
“I love the Xero products. I am thrilled that I was able to add a boot to my collection …Keep up the good work!” – Jamar C.
“The do-it-all mountain shoe I’ve always wished for. It’s tough, surprisingly lightweight, and the grip is insane!” – Matt G.
THE WORLD’S LIGHTEST TECHNICAL HIKING BOOT
Ever have that feeling at the end of a hike where you can’t wait to kick off your heavy, stiff boots?
You’ll never feel that again when you wear the Scrambler Mid, perhaps the lightest and most comfortable technical hiking boot ever made!
Scramble up trails like a mountain goat in this shoe! At just 11.3 oz. per shoe (M9), a pair of the Scrambler Mid weighs less than just one single boot from most other companies.
Scrambler Mid is a collaboration with Michelin, the car and bike tire company.
If you could see inside the thin Michelin fiberlite sole, you’d find an embedded textile layer, giving the sole unparalleled strength, flexibility and lightness.
Plus, with mud-shedding lugs inspired by Michelin’s high-performance mountain bike tires, you feel the confidence that comes with incredible grip.
Although the Scrambler Mid uses Michelin soles, it’s still covered under our 5,000 mile sole warranty.
You may look at the Scrambler Mid and think it has a thick sole and that Xero Shoes has strayed from our mission.
Far from it.
Above the fiberlite is a thin layer of our TrailFoam™, which gives you extra comfort and protection when you’re on a tough trail.
Normally we hide this layer in our hiking products’ soles. But the Scrambler Mid wraps both sole layers up around the upper, giving an illusion of thickness. This eye-catching look inspires conversations with other hikers that start with, “Where do I get those?”
Enjoy the protection you get with the Scrambler Mid’s abrasion-resistant, vegan-friendly, breathable upper, and welded sidewalls and two-layer toe cap.
And when the elements give you an extra challenge, attach your favorite gaiter to the included hook and tackle the next peak.
With this incredible combination of lightness, flexibility, grip, protection, and comfort, the Scrambler Mid can outperform many trail running shoes.
Whether you put that idea to the test, or take it for a day trip, or a month-long thru-hike, the Scrambler Mid is your perfect companion to Live Life Feet First.
If your feet don’t feel as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, you haven’t tried the Scrambler Mid.
Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from letting your feet do what’s natural – bend, move, flex and feel.
All Xero Shoes feature a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets your toes spread and relax, a non-elevated “zero drop” heel for proper posture, low-to-the-ground design for perfect balance and agility, and a flexible sole that gives you “just right” protection so you can bend, move, flex, and Live Life Feet First!

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer.
We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.
All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.
Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.
International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.
Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.
All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.
After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.
You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.
You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

they sent me the wrong boots and it's been weeks now. they say they're going to fix it but they're taking their sweet time and customer service responds to me about 1/5th of the time and it's as if they don't even read what i say half the time... i was a very loyal xero customer, i but nothing but xero... not anymore. this is awful
i checked this website for almost a year trying to find black boots that work for me. i finally did and they sent me the wrong color. now they refuse to replace them unless i drive out to the store or pay for shipping. And they can't even replace these with the correct size ... i've always had good customer service from xero and that's why i kept coming back. Unless you guys make this right I won't be returning, this is very frustrating
Hi Jason, We are sorry to hear you receive the wrong color in your order. We do not make customer's pay for return shipping for any orders within the US, so a return label should be sent to you for this mistake. Please reach out to [email protected] and a representative would be happy to help
They're exactly what I expected: lightweight, comfortable, good grip, breathable. Was originally tempted to get a wide, but the toe box has lots of room, so that's that. True to size.
Overall so far a comfy lightweight shoe with some drawbacks. It is really narrow, which is surprising because while I bought the men's size due to other reviews saying the women's were narrow, these don't have any more room. I have regular to narrow feet myself so I wasn't expecting that. The tread is also s little slick on some surfaces. I will have to see how they hold up on a slick trailhead.
I originally tried the Xcursion Fusion even though the reviews were mixed. Ended up exchanging them due to the fit, and figured I would order the men's style of the Scrambler Mid this time to see if the fit would be better. Surprisingly the men's Scrambler Mid are more narrow in the midfoot than the women's of the other model! Not sure why their hiking boots are more narrow than their other shoes. Otherwise very comfortable. We will see how they hold up over time.
Wide toe boxes let your toes spread and relax. "Zero-drop" non-elevated heel for proper posture.
Our patented FeelTrue sole protects your foot while giving your brain the feedback and stimulation required.
Flexible soles let your foot bend and flex naturally. Low-to-the-ground design for balance and agility.
