The perfect balance between cozy and lightweight. – Rhylee C.

Enjoy that crisp winter weather in the Alpine – your fully-waterproof, lightweight, minimalist snow boot

Now you don’t need to sacrifice comfort and natural movement when the temperature starts to fall and snow is in the air (and on the ground).

Waterproof, cozy, and warm!

The Alpine keeps the wet out with a fully seam-sealed inner bootie and a water-resistant membrane in the boot’s upper.

The insulated polyester fleece lining keeps those piggies nice and warm. And a heat-reflective insole adds to the winter-friendly comfort. And, yes, you can remove the insole for an even more “barefoot” feeling.

The Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, so they should keep your feet warm no matter where your adventures take you.

Lightweight and grippy

A women’s 7 weighs just 11.9 ounces each, a luggy tread gives you sure-footed traction, and a flexible, non-elevated (zero-drop) sole lets your foot move naturally.

Plus, the Alpine is made from 100% vegan-friendly materials.

Whether you wear the Alpine for a romp in the snow or after you slip off your ski boots, remember…

Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from using your feet naturally.

That’s what Xero Shoes let you do.

Natural Fit. Natural Motion. Natural Feel.

Caring for your Alpines

To clean your Alpines, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting the Alpine in the washing machine or dryer.

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

Best boots I have ever owned

I love these boots. They are by far the best pair of boots that I have every owned. They are lightweight. I feel like I am wearing shoes instead of bulky boots. They are warm and keep my feet dry. I have splashed through slushy, melting snow and puddles and they have kept my feel dry. I would highly recommend these boots. I am in SW Ontario and the price was worth the exchange and shipping.

Pleasantly surprised

I was looking for a pair of minimal winter boots. When I saw these by Xero, I had to look into. Some of the reviews I read stated they would be stiff at first, they were. But after a couple of day the stiffness was no longer noticeable. I absolutely love these boots! So comfortable and light for winter walking. I live in Minnesota and walk my dog twice a day. So comfort and warmth are important. My toes stay warm and I barely notice I’m wearing boots. If you are thinking about a pair, stop thinking and BUY THEM!

Love my new boots!!

Got to give these a good workout this morning shoveling and I just love them! Kept my feet warm and dry and as a bonus, my socks didn't slide off into the toe 😉

Should have bought them sooner

Last summer I learned about minimal shoes and bought my first pair of earth runners sandals and my feet fell in love. I’m a dog walker and when winter came around, my feet were suffering being in shoes other than my earth runners. I was then on the hunt for minimal winter boots and found a couple companies. Zero shoes carried a boot made with vegan materials, water proof, warm, and cute! I was sold but I’m also very frugal with my money and contemplated for weeks if this pair of boots was worth the money. I feet finally convinced me that they’re worth it and I only wish I bought them sooner! The first pair I got were a little too small, but the exchange process was very easy and their customer service was extremely kind and helpful! I’m usually a size 10 but I went with the 10.5 for extra wiggle room for my toes and for incase I wanted to layer up my socks. The Alpine boots took a little while to break in, but they’re literally a life changer. When I put on any other pair of shoes now, my feet start to feel so uncomfortable right away. Anyone contemplating buying any pair of Zero shoes, DO IT. I can tell these shoes are going to hold up for years and they have become my everyday choice. The Alpines specifically are so cozy, very water proof, great for hiking or cute enough to wear with a casual outfit. I feel like a ninja on top of the world when I wear these boots!

Alpine Boots are Great!

I have bad knees and wear 'barefoot' type shoes to lessen the pain, even though I used to use arch support. I couldn't find any winter boots in local stores that provided that minimalist feel, and took a chance on Xero after doing online research. These are GREAT boots. I feel like I'm walking on air, and my knees do just fine with them. They have good traction, fit well in my usual shoe size and have room for extra socks if needed. So far in Minnesota winters, though, they have been snug/warm with just my regular socks, even with temperatures and wind chills below zero. I am very happy I ordered a Xero product. I love my new Alpine boots.

Fabulous Alpine Boots!

I absolutely love my Xero Alpine boots! They are marvellous for my forest walks — in the snow or just on the frosty, icy, leaf-covered paths. Although I stopped running many moons ago, I even run up the hills in them. They’re also great on the streets -- light and comfortable and warm. They are truly wonderful and I’m so happy I decided to splurge on them. Thank you.

Snow Day Fun

This is my fourth pair of Xero shoes. Since jumping on the bandwagon in August 2020 I've donated a couple boxes of regular shoes to soles4souls. I have these alpine boots in a 6.5; Mika's in a 7 (both which allows for my thicker wool socks); Prios in size 6 and HFS in 6.5. I am SO GLAD I ordered these this past fall! We had our first big snow, and kept my feet completely dry. My husband was lamenting his "normal" hiking boots and how uncomfortable they were after switching to barefoot type footwear. I tried on my Khombu snowboots from Costco and they were ridiculously uncomfortable after having worn Xeros for four months. These babies, though, were comfy cozy!

Finally. A MINIMAL SNOW BOOT!!!!

I live in snowy Michigan, and used to DESPISE when the snow would come because that meant all my Xero sandals had to go in the closet and my feet would be forced into torture coffins. NOT ANY MORE!!! These boots are AMAZEBALLS. I have hiked so far in just snow and freezing rain, and we haven’t had more than 5 inches, so will update once we get more snow/blizzard status. I wore a light weight wool sock, because my feet run cold, in 30 degrees with wind and snow and was perfectly content. My feet are mobile and happy, and dry! I have also been able to attach YakTrax/Diamond Trekkers and while I could feel them under my feet, there was no problem and my feet were still happy for a 1+ hour hike with my dog on the trails. Nice ankle joint flexibility. Only con: I would make the tab at the back a little bigger as I have a hard time grabbing it to shove my foot in......but also could be cuz I am lazy and leave them half laced up in the first place. They look cute too, and go great with my workout leggings. I will update for warmth once we get colder, blizzardy weather!
