Use the templates that are linked on this page (next to where you select the size, and in the product description).
NOTE: Please measure your foot and/or use the templates. Sandal size is very often different than shoe size.
There are 54 different foot shapes. And no product will fit everyone perfectly.
If you’re not sure you have the right size, drop us an email with some photos (top, side, back) and we’ll give you our opinion.
If you have the right size but the Z-Trek shape doesn’t quite match your foot… CUT IT! That’s right, you can trim the Z-Trek with a good pair of kitchen scissors. To finish the edge cleanly, try some sandpaper. Don’t cut off too much, too soon, though. Take off just a bit, and then see how you did. Remember, you can’t UN-cut.
If you’re a man with a very narrow foot, you may be better in the “women’s” style. Conversely, women with very wide feet, or over a size 10, should check the sizing for he “men’s” products.
Pretty much anything you want. Take a walk on the beach, a hike in the woods, hang out with friend, stroll around the campsite, approach a climb, paddle a canoe, run a marathon…
I’m not sure that Z-Trek, or any sandal for that matter, is right for lateral motion sports, like tennis or basketball.
So, use your common sense and HAVE FUN!
You sure can. Just slide the webbing through the slots on the outside of the sole to get the tension you like.
Note: A lot of our customers report that they like the toe strap looser than they thought they would. Experiment and see what you like best.
The women’s Z-Trek is a bit narrower, and the webbing is 4mm thinner.
So if you have a narrow foot, whether you’re a man or woman, you may want to check the “women’s” sizing templates and see how those work for you. Similarly, if you have a wider foot, regardless of your gender, check out the “men’s” templates.

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.
All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.
Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.
International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.
Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.
All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).
Also, check our Stores page. There may be a Xero Shoes dealer closer to you.
After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.
You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.
You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.
To clean your Z-Trek sandals, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.

I love these shoes!!!! I wear them all the time for walking around town. I can't wait to try them hiking when the trails reopen.
My first pair broke and it probably was an edge case of whether this breakage should be covered by Xero -- but they immediately replied and sent out a new pair, no issues at all. Super excited about having my lovely barefoot shoes again. Work reasonably well for jogging after you get used to it, but amazing shoes for everyday wear.
Absolutely in love with these shoes! They are my first barefoot shoes and I am in love! They are cute and oh so comfortable! I normally wear a 61/2--sized down to a 6 and they fit perfectly. I now understand the hype around barefoot shoes.
Perfect shoes 🙂
My feet love Xero shoes! My job requires I wear black shoes. I can't wait to see women's solid black size 7 shoes so I can buy & wear for work! I'm definitely a regular customer from now on.
The sandals feels nice and light, but if I wear them for several hours in the day, the soles of my feet feel bruised. These are the only shoes that cause this effect. It does not happen to me when I wear other shoes or go barefoot.
I bought myself the Z trek and Z trail as Christmas gifts to myself and I absolutely love them!!! Loved them so much I went ahead and bought the Jesse Sandle afterwards. They are not heavy, very flexible, and literally can be worn with everything and anything. I have taken all of these for walks around the neighborhood, hiking, running and playing with my son, my daily runs, or simple errands. They are my go to for everything and anything. Sometimes I even forget I have even have them on and I find myself still walking around the house with them on thinking I was barefoot. This is coming from me, who LOVES being barefoot who spends most of her time barefoot when at home, at the yard, or even when hiking! Nice to have that protection from rocks and not have to sacrifice "connection". I still remove them for small periods for that "grounding connection" while hiking and they are so light to pack and carry. No more carrying heavy boots or sneakers in the woods or trails!
I’ve been running for about 6 years now on and off, mainly as a way to keep healthy. It’s never really been ‘fun’ to me, more of a habit which I do. Last year I stopped running and started experiencing a bout of mild depression, and was looking for answers why I was feeling that way. I thought maybe not running could have something to do with it, but I was in a headspace where it was very difficult for me to find motivation to exercise. So I read ‘Born to Run’ and was inspired to try barefoot running. I began walking barefoot to begin with, and did so for about a month, but unfortunately the town in which I live in is plagued by mini stones and gravel over the footpaths which were super painful to trod on. I decided to try out Xero shoes, which I found out about through Rob Greenfield (my favourite environmentalist, check him out!). I first bought the traditional diy huarache, but made them up and they didn’t fit my feet properly. After trying a few different styles in store I found the Z-trek to be exactly what I was looking for. At first I didn’t have the straps adjusted to my feet properly and I got a bit of rubbing, but after wearing them a few times and adjusting where they were rubbing I found them to feel so freeing. I built up the amount I was running in them slowly over a month, at first my gait was a bit off and my calves were hurting, and I had some doubts. But I persisted and the strangest thing happened. Running... has become fun?! I didn’t actually think it was possible, but it’s really weird, my feet feel like they have springs in them, and I feel way less tired than I used to running with normal shoes. Maybe it’s just my brain making stuff up because I love the idea of Xero shoes, but it’s honestly how I’ve been feeling for the past few weeks, since getting used to the shoes. I also feel way better emotion wise! I also like the feeling that when I’m running in Xero shoes, I’m sending a big ‘stuff you’ message to the big shoe companies. I’m really glad I made the switch to Xero shoes, and look forward to using these ones a lot more.
I like the lightweight design, I expect it to be so durable
Beautiful fit and your feet are free to move.
