We made the Mesa Trail with lightweight, barefoot-friendly, minimalist running in mind. But we know you’ll wear it off-trail too.

The breathable, mesh upper gets rid of the weight and keeps you cool. The moisture-wicking lining helps keep you dry. The welded protective covering of the adjustable midfoot and instep straps adds durability. The lugged, dual-chevron tread gives you sure-footed traction. And the “hidden” 3mm TrailFoam™ layer adds the right amount of protection and comfort.

Caring for your Mesa Trails

To clean your Mesa Trails, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting the Mesa Trail in the washing machine or dryer.

What’s different between TerraFlex and Mesa Trail?

The TerraFlex is our first shoe designed for trails. With a rugged, stitched upper, it’s great for running and hiking.

The Mesa Trail is made more specifically for trail running, with a lightweight breathable mesh upper, extra moisture wicking lining, and a protective welded covering for the adjustable midfoot and instep straps.

Both shoes have a grippy, lugged, dual-chevron tread, and a 3mm TrailFoam layer (“hiding” in the outsole) for just-right protection and comfort.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).

How do I send a gift certificate?

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

They are my first pair of minimalist athletic shoes and I love them! They are so comfortable on my long hikes in Montana 🙂

Great barefoot trail shoes!

I’ve hiked in them, run in them, walked in them, jogged on the beach in them, and I really love them! I’ve only owned Xero sandals before these, but there will be more shoes like this in my future, I’m sure!

These shoes. Mesa Trail, are the bomb!! I LOVE them and my feet are over 64 years old! I’ll buy another pair. Make them in dark Brownish Red for me! Please?? Earth colored red. Or reddish brown. LOL. Very Happy with them.

Shoes did not disappoint and impeccable customer service

It’s a long shoe story, but essentially I was not happy with the Mesa Trail WP I had gotten as an upgraded warranty replacement for this model. Xero graciously allowed me to return the WP and sent me a new pair of these, which I had loved so much the first time. I wore them on a trail run last week and sure enough they were exactly as I remembered. They fit perfectly and not one rub spot ever. Cray that a trail show can be so flexible and comfortable, yet tough enough for the woods. Definitely an awesome model.The trail was muddy, wet and snowy and of course my feet got soaked, but they were still much more comfortable than the Mesa Trail WP. I’m confident Xero will perfect the WP eventually, I’ll just have to hold out until then.

Great but not as good as the HFS

Those are really nice minimalist shoes. They are not as natural as the HFS in my point of view. The toe box is stiff and you can feel it. It also means that I had to take 1 point longer than normal an 0.5 longer than my HFS size. I am looking forward to see how it will feel on longer distance in trail running because of the toe box….
