Cloud/Venture Size Guide

Get the right size for your Amuri Cloud and Venture

Barefoot sandals don’t fit the same way as shoes, or other sandals. Just because you wear, say, a size 10 Nike Free, that doesn’t mean you’ll wear a size 10 Amuri Cloud or Venture (and, I’m willing to bet you have other shoes that are 9.5 or 10.5… so are you really a 10 😉 ?)

By following the instructions below, you’ll get the correct fit.

NOTE: Please follow these instructions to get the right fit

3 Simple Steps to the Correct Fit

1) Measure your foot

Measure your feet for huarache barefoot sandals

  • Place a piece of paper against a wall (if you have VERY large feet, use a piece of newspaper.
  • Place your foot on the paper, with your heel against the wall.
  • Make a mark on the paper at the furthest point away from the wall… this will either be just in front of your big toe or second toe
  • Take a ruler and measure from the edge of the paper to the mark you made.

Here’s a video showing the process

2. Check your measurement against the chart, below

This will give you a good idea of your size… but PLEASE follow the next step whenever possible.

3. Verify the correct fit by printing the size template and comparing it to your foot

The freedom of natural barefoot movement, with a whisper of comfort.

Feel the Freedom. Feel the Fun. Feel the World!®

Clear selection

“The most comfortable, versatile barefoot sandal your feet will ever love.”

We’ve taken our ready-to-wear Venture and added a whisper of comfort with a custom-made 3mm Barefoam™ insert in the forefoot.

This makes the Cloud even lighter and more flexible than the Venture… A men’s size 9 is only 4.6 ounces. The Amuri Cloud floats!

Some people think of the Amuri Cloud as their casual Xero Shoe, even though it’s sturdy enough to tackle a 100-mile trail ultramarathon.

Reasons you’ll love the Amuri Cloud:

  • Four fun color combinations — Coal Black soles with Charcoal, Mocha Earth soles with Black, Coal Black soles with Aquarius, and Slate soles with Lemon
  • Barefoam™ forefoot insert gives a hint of comfort, without unnecessary padding
  • Patent-pending lacing system gives you a perfect fit in seconds
  • Flatiron pattern on the Barefoam™ gives you extra grip
  • 6mm FeelTrue® outsole protects you from unpleasant surfaces without sacrificing ground feel
  • Elegant contour surrounds your foot, but doesn’t add unnecessary support
  • Ready to wear — the lacing is already done for you. Just slide in your foot and go
  • Patent-pending tensioning system — find the perfect fit in seconds, and then you can slide your Xeros on and off in a flash
  • Super soft toe post — since the huaraches-inspired lacing goes around your entire foot, you don’t feel the toe post the way you do in a flip flop or other thong sandal
  • Super STRONG toe post — won’t pull through the sole like flip flops do
  • Heel cup — keeps your heel in place, helps keep out debris, and adds a splash of color
  • Nylon Achilles strap with Silicone grip — holds on securely and comfortably
  • Elevated ankle holes — the lace never touches the ground, and so it won’t abrade
  • 5,000 mile warranty! Wear out your Amuri Clouds in under 5,000 miles and we’ll replace them for a nominal cost (details here)

An amazing choice!

When I first saw this type of sandals, I thought I couldn't hold the cords between my toes. When I got them, I realized the strings were easy to adjust as I wanted. Durable, and soft steps on the ground make this sandals simply the best of its types. Thank you

A BIG guy's perspective...

I started with the Venture, initially skeptical since I am 6' and 220 pounds. But big guys - pay attention because these sandals work for me! Some time back I switched to "barefoot" style shoes/sandals after reading and personal testing since they eased my lower back pain, as counter-intuitive as that may seem. And this product has become my favorite "barefoot" article and the back pain remains eased.

I'm not really a sandal guy, but had so much fun on this site I thought I'd give the sandals a shot. Customer service was excellent, helpful and fun. In my original go around I ordered a Venture and the Sport Sandal. As soon as I tried them, no comparison and the Sport Sandal went back (as per my agreement when I ordered). That choice was a surprise since I assumed the latter would work better for me because of the construction and my size. Nope.

The Ventures took no getting used to; I just tightened them, took off and liked them out of the gate. I've worn them steadily for over a month and the wear, because of the foot plant and sole material, is next to nothing (big guys, again take note). Far better than what it would be on a pair of running shoes I'd used for a month.

I liked the Ventures well enough to try the Cloud just for fun. Well for some reason the Cloud is more comfortable and I haven't had them off since I got them. I usually walk on concrete and grass, though sometimes on a dirt/rocky road but have not had a problem with either pair Each walk is about 45 minutes so my dog can get me the proper amount of exercise! As an important side note, I can also drive in the sandals without having them "catch" a car pedal like others tend to.

So in summary, we have here a simple, durable, excellently conceived product that has worn well for a 220 lb. guy. Very pleased with all aspects of this product and company - enough to write this probably overlong review!

AMAZING

I've been wearing minimalist shoes for a while. I needed a pair of sandals and tried many huaraches. Most huaraches' toe post angles toward the pinky toe. This pulls the strap at too strong an angle across my toe bones. The Clouds' (and the Ventures') toe post runs straight up and parallel to the foot and toe bones, nearest the front of the foot. Adjusting the location of the cord loop on the top of the foot allows for the best adjustment of ANY huarache I've tried because the toe post and the cord are separate parts of the shoe. These are the only toe post sandals I can comfortably wear. Very well done!!!!!!!!
The round nylon laces. Light. Slight stretch and softness. Doesn't 'dig into' the skin. Durable. Way more comfortable than thick and flat nylon, or leather that stretches out and gets loose.
In addition, the Cloud cushion is a great addition. I hope this comes to the Z-Trek. One thing I like about the cushion is that is only in the forefoot. This creates the incentive to land softer and/or more fore foot.
The quality on these huaraches is amazing. I can't figure out why other makers are charging approximately double for similar quality.

Love the openness

I really like these shoes, although I don't get a chance to wear them as often as I would like. My day job requires closed-toe, closed-heel shoes, and at home after work I am always completely barefoot. The only issue I am having with them is the toe post. I haven't worn shoes with a toe post in about 30 years, and it is an adjustment I am having to make. I am making it, though, and am sure I will wear these shoes until they are worn out.

Gave them a try but they weren't for me

I had the Clouds for only a few days and decided that having something between my toes wasn't for me. I also had trouble with my foot sliding forward which caused my big toe to land partly on the Barefoam insert and partly on the outsole - ouch. So I've since switched to Z-Trek which has fixed both of those problems. You'll also see this in the review I've left for the Z-Trek, but I really miss the Barefoam. I think now that I'm able to keep the sandal in place better, I don't think I'd have the problem with my big toe partially landing on the outsole. That little bit of softness is really great. So that's why I'm giving them 3 stars. There is nothing at all wrong with the Cloud, but for me, I couldn't run long distances with the thong between my toes.

If you're on the fence, I would really recommend you get a pair to try for yourself. From what I can tell, the majority of people don't notice the thong at all; which means between these and the Venture, I'd take the Barefoam every time.

Great shoes

Awesome minimalist shoe. I have ran/walked/hiked in them and they are great. Easy on and off. Perfect for a lot of tasks and they allow your toes to really spread out and to use your arch properly which is why I got them. I have zero complaints. And the price is right.

Mostly I like 'em

I like the fit and the feel and the color. They pick up small stones when I walk downhill on gravel, but I guess that will happen with any sandal. They seem kind of pricey and I wonder if they will really last for five thousand miles. But mostly I like them.
